This feature has started appearing on my feed, listing “who to follow” suggestions. I find it distracting, unwanted and a feature that I’m simply not interested in seeing. Can this feature be disabled?

Agree totally with you.  In fact, yours isn't a new suggestion.  See this thread from two years ago: https://communityhub.strava.com/ideas/get-rid-of-suggested-athletes-who-to-follow-banner-5868 In there I mentioned it was a huge privacy concern, since we are all being suggested to other people whom we haven't ever met or had any contact with.   Feel free to add your vote to that previous topic... if you think it will help!

Thank you for your comment and support on this and, in fact, providing even more valid argument in terms of quite serious privacy considerations. This, quite simply, should not be forced on users. Strava must see and gain benefit from doing so. If I can recall a few years back, this was a feature that the user could chose to have or omit - maybe I am wrong?

No, we never had the choice.  I remember the forums of the mid-teens where we all kept begging for a choice, as ex-spouses and domestic abusers would show up as people we were expected to follow!  This infuriated many of us.  Strava leadership never acknowledged our concerns.

Ah, okay - I stand corrected on that then, I could quite recall. Yes, they don’t seem willing to listen, instead proceed to plough ahead with changes that adversely affect the user experience.

How do we get Strava management to cease proving suggestions on who to follow?. It's rubbish that always appears on my home page. An unecessary add-on.

Enough is enough, we need to be able to opt-out. It's what we pay for.

Annoyed!!

I absolutely HATE this fearlture, utterly pointless and VERY  frustrating that Strava are not listening to their users.

Why isn't this an option we can simply turn OFF ffs!

PLEASE, STRAVA. give us the option to disable this useless feature.  As others have said, I do NOT want random people from all over the world following ME, and I know who I want to follow, thankyou.

I don't like the "Who to Follow" feature with Strava either. I don't see the point to be constantly shown to follow random people. Strava is excellent app and I'm a subscriber, but if they don't get rid of the "Who to Follow", I'm going to unsubscribe. I'm not fond of it that much.
