When I view an activity, mine or someone else’s, the map isn’t visible and instead a message is displayed, “Error occured in map rendering engine.”

When I see activities in the feed or on my profile, the summary/overview maps do show.

I’ve tried the following without success:

  • logging in and out
  • clearing cookies
  • clearing cache
  • using a different browser. Problem is happening in Chrome, Chrome (incognito), Firefox.

Using a Windows 11 machine, web browser.

Seeing the same thing in different browsers on a GNU/Linux box. It’s been broken for at least 3 hours. In particular, this is very annoying when you get a trophy for a segment, but cannot see the map that would show where.

It would be nice if Strava would at least provide a link to an external map service if they have to throw an error like this.

Restarted the computer and tried Edge browser, even though I never really use it. Still borked.

Add Android Chrome to the list. Definitely not device or browser dependent.

Same issue. Chrome or Firefox on MacBook Air running latest software give’s the same; “Error occured in map rendering engine” message when trying to view any ride’s map. Did the usual, restart laptop, browser, sign in/out of Strava, clear cache…. and….
Hey Strava! it’s a problem on your end, please fix it!
