I’m now seeing the “Your Weekly Snapshot” at the top of my feed when using the app. I do not enjoy how this serves almost entirely to make me feel bad about my effort so far in the current week. This is detrimental to my experience on Strava.

My training schedule each week is highly variable due to plenty of factors such as work, personal commitments, weather, etc. I should not have to see a feature telling me I haven’t been working as hard when I have been putting in more or the same amount of effort as my schedule allows.

Please enable a toggle for this feature so we do not have to see it.

Over a month since your post and this "feature" just showed up in my feed.   Is strava listening to users?   Please allow us to disable it

UPDATE: I’m going to a shakeout run for the LA Marathon and I’ve been told Strava will be there. So I’m going to ask their reps about this and see if we can’t get this moving for the good of all runners everywhere.

I actually stopped using Strava shortly after this feature was implemented. I found it contributed to the already very present feeling that I'm never doing enough, especially compared to others, and I had to get myself out of that headspace. Disappointing.

Hello Scout just want to add I too think this is an awful idea and would like to disable it immediately.

This feature appeared for me in the last few days. I don’t like it, it doesn’t motivate me (the opposite in fact) and I’d like the option to switch it off.

Joining the petition to remove this feature or make it optional. Strong dislike.

I agree it’s very annoying and needs to be removed!

👎 stop promoting overtraining and unhealthy fitness periodization. Horrible feature and irresponsible design.

This is an unhelpful feature, please give us an option to remove it.

For what its worth, I really like this feature, when I am on a taper week I know I am on a taper week so its chill that it shows me im down.

The only time it bugs me is when im busy with work/baby so i can't really get out, but the good thing is it makes me fired up to ride/run more so i make sure to finish my work day on time or find time with my wife to look after the kid.

I am surprised people care so much about a red arrow. I actually didn't like the way previously there didn't seem to be a quick cumulative view. Big fan of it showing both hours and miles, as obviously when I have a heavy run week vs a heavy ride week distance doesn't mean much.

Hi, I kind of ignore it; I may be dim but what do the triangles mean? TIA

The weekly snapshot recently showed up on my Home Screen. Completely useless screen trash. An option to disable would be great, or just get rid of it entirely.

Agree, please allow us to make it optional! Does not promote good training and is demotivational!

I can see the feature would be helpful for some and neutral for others. I personally find it unhelpful and unhealthy, and therefore would appreciate the option to remove.

Alright. So they have looked at all of this feedback from their segment off users who have access to the "feature", huddled up together, and decided that the *best* course of action is to turn off the color red. Your product managers are a joke, Strava, and don't get me started on whichever exec is overseeing these decisions.

For crying out loud, just add a toggle feature to the settings. Too hard for your devs? Crowdsource/offer a bounty and a bunch of us code monkeys would be happy to get it done in a day...

Obviously joining others and won't renew my subscription until this is taken care of.

They compare your previous and current weeks. Up-triangle? You're doing better. Plenty of psychology studies show the harmful effects in brain chemistry from gamification (to put it succinctly). I suspect it the feature is aimed at their competitive/pro users, so they should offer a simple way to opt out for those of us who see it as detrimental.

Thank you! If you could post an update here summarizing your experience (doubt you'll find anyone outside of marketing there) we'd be appreciative!

Thank you! I agree there is no real added value in the snapshot, especially as one can assess progress simply by reviewing past activities.

Totally agree! There are at least two other places on the app where weekly efforts can be compared. We don’t need another.

All of the trolling, negative responses to this are obviously from bullet proof, hard as nails, go big or go home type guys, good on them, but this feature isn’t for everyone, simple as that.

This really should be an option, that needs to be toggled on if you want it and be disabled as default.

The obsession with adding “new” features and “improvements” to the pp creates clutter such as the snapshot feature. It’s annoying. I don’t want to see it. Pls allow us to toggle it off and take a day off. We don’t need you to keep adding crap to the app; it’s great already.

Please remove this feature it is terrible!

I really like the new weekly snapshot feature, but I think it would be much more motivating and realistic if it was the cumulative of the last 7 days instead of resetting to zero on Mondays.

This way, you wouldn't be at 0h/0km after a productive sporty weekend.

I vote to make this feature "collapsable", or to provide the option to remove it completely from the home page. I can find this data elsewhere on the app when I actually want to see it.

Please let users toggle this feature off.

Smart training involves building training blocks and down or rest periods. No one's training should increase every single week. This feature promotes over training. It also can be harmful for users who have dealt with orthorexia, any kind of exercise or eating disorder, or feelings of inadequacy and pressure to always be doing more.
