I am trying to find the first bicycle ride I recorded on a specific bicycle “Gear” in Strava. I cannot find a way to search or filter activities by Gear. Is there a way to do this?

Yes, but only on the Strava website:
Go to Training/My Activities, choose the Sport, then choose the Bike and in the table with the activities click on the Date caption to order it ascending.
