Fixing a bad distance

This past saturday, I ran my first ultra, a 32 mile run that was 10 3.2 mile laps around Green Lake in Seattle.

The problem is, my run got tracked as being 45 miles.

I tried using the in-app tool to fix the distance, but that actually made the run longer. It was pretty consistent along the entire run, taking 2 minutes off my min/k pace.

I did manage to fix it using gpx-dot-studio but now when I try to upload it, I get a message that it’s a duplicate of the run.

I’m hesitant to delete the existing run without knowing how the import will work.

Aside from just creating a temp account to import, is there a way to get it to import before I delete the original, albeit incorrect, run?

The message for the duplicate shows that Strava can process the import of the fixed file. If you want to implement a failsafe you can use the “Export Original” in the activity on the website, that file you can surely import again if after deleting the activity the import of the fix doesn’t work as expected.

Any idea how long after deleting before I’ll be able to upload? I’m still getting the duplicate error.
