My time compared to others in flybys seems to be out by hours. I know I have followed or passed people, but in fly bys I complete missed them, bu hours. Also when I start playing a ride, I can see the paths of other users in their colour, but they don't show up until the end of my ride.
Its like we are on different timezones, but across multiple computers I am on the right time zone for where I live, unless Strava has its own way to setting a time zone..
Any ideas?

Hi
There are a few different reasons why this may be happening. Please refer to the following:
- If the activity does not contain GPS data, check your profile settings and make sure your time zone is set properly. Some devices provide timezone information for non-GPS activities but, if your device doesn't, we will default to the time zone of the location listed on your profile. Sometimes Strava gets stuck when updating your time zone based on the location listed on your profile.
- You can adjust your timezone using these instructions which should resolve the issue for future uploads.
- From the Strava website, open the drop-down menu under your profile picture and select Settings.
- Replace your current location with Los Angeles > Save > Refresh Page.
- Enter your correct location > Save > Refresh Page. Confirm that your time zone is now set properly.
- Unfortunately, the only way to fix the timestamps on your existing activities is to re-upload them. This will require that any existing versions of that activity get deleted so that the new version(s) can be uploaded. This will remove all kudos, comments, and photos associated with the original activity.
- You can adjust your timezone using these instructions which should resolve the issue for future uploads.
- If you recorded with the Strava mobile app and the activity's year is in the 2000s, you may be experiencing an issue related to a GPS rollover that occurred on April 6, 2019. Learn more here.
- Check the Strava website to view the activity's total elapsed time. If the total elapsed time is a very large number, then the GPS device has recorded data on different days.
- If two activities are recorded together as one, use the split activity tool.
- If only a few points at the beginning or end of your file have the wrong date, consider trimming this data with the activity crop tool.
- If you're recording with the Strava Android app, check that you have the clock set to update automatically in your phone's settings.
Please let me know if you’re still having trouble.
Thank you!
I set the timezone to New York, the other side of the world, refreshed the page, tried FlyBys, and then changed it back to Perth, but its still out by many hours. If you choose “Flyby locations” they show the icons, but as soon as you try and play it out, the icons disapear, and show hours after the ride was completed (on the playback)
My Flybys, my favorite feature, is stuck in a time warp..
