My cycling crew and I recently all bought the Garmin 1050 for our mountain biking adventures.  3 of us so far have tried syncing it with Strava to display live segments, and none of us are able to get this working for some reason.

I understand there is some sort of “no downhill” policy, but we can’t even get the climbs to work, even after trying to re-create new climb segments to test.  Is there something we are missing?  Neither the “E-Bike” or “E-Mountain” categories seem to work.  Even trying to sync some local road only segments, out of maybe 30 segments, I was only able to get 2 starred segments to show.  So we know its “working”, but there has to be something we’re missing.

I may be wrong, but the last information I have found states that live segments are not available for e-bike segments.  Are you seeing the issue with just e-bike segments or are you seeing it with regular non-e-bike segments as well?

Hi @JohnnyLaw

Thanks for your post. @anchskier is correct - live segments are not currently available for e-bike segments. Apologies for any confusion here.

More information on live segments can be found here

The information on what works and what doesnt work is not on the article though.  If E-Bike segments are not available, are E-Mountain segments also not available?  What is the plan to have them function in the future?

E-Mountain bike is just a subset of e-bike.  Live segments do not work for any e-bike activity.

So I have just spent £650 on a Garmin device that does not work. Great. Thanks Garmin.

The whole 1050 edge is not very user friendly by the way.
