Why has my Strava app started to hide the start & end of my activities.

Hello @Woody57

Thanks for posting about this.

We have recently made a change to our map visibility settings for all athletes where the first and last 200 meters of your activity maps will be hidden by default.

If you wish to change your default preference, learn more here.

If you wish to update an individual activity, learn more here

Achievements:

If a segment attempt ends or begins in an area hidden by your map visibility settings, the effort will not be placed on overall/public leaderboards. You will not receive a CR, XOM, or Local Legend for these efforts. However, you will still be eligible to receive personal records on these segment matches.

Who can see:

To respect your map visibility settings as well as your privacy, these efforts will be hidden from others viewing your activity details page—the match will only be visible to you.

To read about Map Visibility, please refer to this article. And for more information on all of our privacy controls, please visit our privacy center and take the time to ensure your selections in Strava represent your intended experience.

I hope that helps - please let us know if you have further questions.

@Jane11 - why does Strava make these kind of unilateral changes that impact peoples activity tracking.  This one in particular was done without the permission or concurrence of the users and it impacts their participation in segments, one of the prime functions of Strava.  They did the same thing with flybys and effectively destroyed that useful and popular function.  How about telling people about the option to do that and explaining how they can opt in to it rather than just implementing it on everyone and then silently sitting back and seeing if anyone notices and then chooses to opt out?

How to modify all previous activities (not just only one)?

But I want to set it to zero but can't seem to do that. I don't want anything hidden??
