How to remove/mute "motivational" messages from Strava
Since a few weeks ago Strava is at it again with pushing "features" down your throat. Now among the notifications for an activity I have to read Strava's stupid "motivational" messages (you're doing great, keep at it, da da da). Anyone can help me get rid of those?

This isn’t a solution. I used to have a premium subscription - and gifted them to several other people. I cancelled a while ago because of your tone-deafness. Sad to see that’s still present.
Please provide me with an option to remove stupid answers from Jane
@Scout and everybody at Strava have completely ignored the complaints. Utterly useless!!!
Please, please allow us to disable this completely. Who thought this could possibly be a good idea??
@pssaenz did you accepted jane's "solution"? or did jane accept it herself? The later would not surprise me a bit.
These are so bad and tedious. Please get rid of them.
This "feature" is one of the dumbest things I’ve seen in a long time. I am sick of getting a bot-generated notification every time I upload GPS data to Strava saying “Kudos!” and “Great Job!” like I am a 2-year-old kid who just got a participation trophy. Why not have the developers fix all the broken things about the platform instead of adding dumb features that nobody wants?
This is EXACTLY what I am talking about. I don’t need a participation trophy or some dumb “congratulations” certificate for pushing a button. Seriously? I get another one of these dumb things thrown at me just for posting a complaint about how I cant shut this stuff off?
And I don’t need another dumb participation trophy just because someone gave me “Kudos!” on a post about how these participation trophies are so dumb.
8 Months later and still no way to turn off this childish crap despite so many complaints. And its not only the app, also in the web-view the "bell icon" shows me numerous "news" only to find out that 90% of those are these useless kudos from Strava itself. People who like to be motivated this way can take on challenges and earn badges anyway.
I also start looking for more grown-up alternatives.
Hi this isn’t good enough. The kudos messages are so sickening and inauthentic they are enough to turn me off Strava and investigate alternatives.
Please make these optional.
Let us disable it, it is annoying, or we will look for an alternative
Please make it possible to diaable this nonsense.
@Jane any update on this? It has been more than a year and seems like a pretty simple fix for a feature that no one I have ever met who uses Strava appreciates. Thank you
I'm new to Strava, and the first thing I noticed is this. WUT is that? And it can't be disabled. This feels amateur hours a bit.
Stop paying for subscriptions. The only way to get change is to hit them where their wallet is.
Dear Strava Product Team,
I would also greatly appreciate it if there were an option to disable automatic kudos.
Maybe it’s specific to my culture, but receiving kudos for any activity from an automat feels really offensive to me. Furthermore, it’s quite annoying because it makes notifications practically unusable.
Still no simple option tick box to turn this off?
have you any idea how much of a negative this is for many users?
if you could explain 1 simple advantage to Strava for not allowing them to be removed, I would be absolutely delighted to hear it.
if not, please ask a trainee software engineer to add a simple “Opt out” tick box.
Thank you in advance.
A very irritated Strava user…..
Plz turn these motivational notifications OFF! Or at least give us the opportunity to choose. They suck bigtime. Sincerely, everybody.
This has become so annoying to me that I'm uninstalling Strava and cancelling my premium subscription. Garmin connect does everything I need, shame to see the social element go but it’s just too annoying.
This is marked as “solved”… Am i right in observing that the solution is to ignore all the comments here& continually send folks ai based conversations, kudos and general climate change enhancing fawning every single time everyone does 2 minutes of excercise?
Id quite like not to have the bot waste both its& my time with the absolute waste of energy it churns out…
The dopamine hit is from completing the activity. The app trying to "Delight" me after completing an activity is actually doing the exact opposite. Please make it so that I dont have to see congratulatory animations telling how great I am. Or at least give me the ability to disable them. Thanks for considering!
I'm also very irritated by the complete lack of engagement by Strava support on this dumb feature, contacted support directly a couple of months ago and they still continue to ignore the feedback in this long thread.
“Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. At this time we do not have a way to disable the auto-generated messages that you receive. ”
and
“Thanks for your follow-up! Our small Support team does not have the bandwidth to track requests for feature changes. Instead, we have a dedicated team that tracks all user feedback in the Hub, where athletes are able to vote and add comments to posts.’
