Today recorded 22k in my activity.  Actually only 14k.  And Strava even reports both.  See screenshots.

One stat is the horizontal distance and the other the cumulated elevation.

Thank you Jan.  One is labeled "Vertical" the other "Elevation Gain".  To me, those things are synonymous.  Distance is also on here, 22.2 miles or 12.2 miles: one includes lifts, the other just downhill distance.

Oh, you mean the other 22, the one that is labeled Vertical, my mistake. Did you by chance not record some of the ski lifts (pausing the ride) so that the cumulated uphill (Elevation Gain) was lower than the cumulated downhill (Vertical)? If that wasn’t the reason, maybe you can post the URL of your activity (in case it’s visible for everyone) to have a closer look.

I think this is the activity, https://www.strava.com/activities/16696435970 there's a difference moving vs. elapsed time but I’m not sure how it works for skiing, @Jan_Mantau perhaps you’ll be able to spot the problem?

Good detective work @Jana_S , this seems to be the activity in question :-) The vertical stat indeed doesn’t make sense, it’s neither including nor excluding the lift rides.
