Hi!

I have been uploading my rowing to Strava (Android) for a while now, and recently I noticed that when using the ‘Quick Edit’ feature to rename/make changes to these activities, the pace units for the activity - “/500m” for rowing - is changed to be “/km”. However, this is unhelpful as rowing consistently uses the “/500m” to measure splits. This issue isn’t present when using the standard Edit Activity button. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to see if this issue is consistent across other devices/Strava versions, and I don’t know if it has existed since the introduction of the Quick Edit feature or not.

Device Data:

Strava V339.16 (12391138)

Android Version BP22.250124.010 (Baklava)

Pixel 6

Hello @h-nry

Thanks for posting about this. We are aware of this issue and our Team is investigating. Sorry that’s happening. As a workaround for now, we recommend editing the activity using the full edit function instead of using Quick Edit. We will update this thread when we have more information on this issue.

This is still an issue.  My activity is captured using a garmin forerunner 255 and pushed to android strava.  It shows as meters and /500m splits then is saved as miles and total activity time.  It’s frustrating.

This is still an issue using quick edit

I’ve had this problem using Strava for Android also!

I’m the developer of the CrewNerd app for rowing & paddling, and some of my customers are seeing the same thing. Most uploads show the correct units, but some people are seeing km and /km for distance and pace. For customers who see this, it seems to fail consistently.

Ik hate that new quick edit thing. It pops out of nowhere when your navigating through activities and destroys the pace for rowing. Useless feature.

Can I please be able to turn it off?

This continues to be an issue whether using quick edit or advanced edit on the mobile app. Sounds like editing the activity directly (instead of through the pop-up) is ok, but I will have to confirm. Editing through desktop is fine.

Can confirm that this continues to be an issue when editing Rowing activities using the standard “Edit Activity” option on the Android App (not quick edit). Activity data is initially shown correctly, after an edit (even just changing the “who can view” rights) the data presentation is converted to an incorrect format.

To get back to correct “Rowing” data presentation you have to edit the activity, change to an alternative type eg “Run”, save the activity, edit the activity again, change type back to “Rowing” and the data is then presented correctly again.

@Stremit , can confirm this works. Good find! Just did it this (after trying a standard activity edit which did not work properly). Annoying, but at least there is a workaround that doesn’t require editing on desktop.

Kudos goes to @arc88 who first found the workaround 👍

This is still an issue, and is very frustrating for the customers who are impacted. Can we get an update on the investigation?
