Why are some of my weight training activities coded as a “Workout” in my Training Log? I save them all as strength training in my watch. It would be nice to have all weight training activities listed as weight training activities in my Training Log.

Hi @Abe M

this looks similar to the following question,

Could you please answer the same questions? I.e. is only the training log incorrect, or also the activities?

Also, it might help if you add links to two sample activities - one that's ok and one that's problematic - so we can compare.

 Thank you!

Hi @Abe M, it seems that the user from the thread mentioned in my previous post has found out what's causing the problem - the “quick edit”. So for now perhaps avoid using it, till Strava fixes this.

Hey @Abe M,

On top of the information @Jana_S requested.

Could you also specify what type of device are you using to perform & upload your activities?

@Bryant

@Jana_S

It is only the training log that is incorrect. Both are recorded as weight training activities using a Garmin 965 and uploaded via Garmin Connect from a Samsung Galaxy S22+.

Hey @Abe M,

Thank you for providing this additional information.
I can confirm our team is aware of this issue and currently working on a fix.
I’ll return to this thread with an update once I receive more information.

I’ve been seeing the same/similar issue in my integration since mid August. The user is manually logging activities in Strava’s Android App, selecting e.g. the “yoga”, or “weight lifting” type. When my integration fetches those through the api, they are getting sent to us as generic type “workout”. Workouts logged in the same way prior to mid-august do show (and still show) the type matching what the user entered in the Strava App. Interestingly, when the user tried logging a “yoga” activity on Strava’s website, that did get assigned type “yoga” in our api results.
