Hi,
I've noticed that in the past few days, geotagged user photos are no longer visible on activity maps or route planning heatmaps on the web version of Strava (they were clickable blue dots).

Instead, I now see commercial POIs (e.g., pubs, even McDonald's, Burger King,) that never appeared before?

I use Strava primarily to explore routes based on local photos, (in particular trail conditions of remote places), and this was a key reason I paid for membership.

Can you please confirm if this is a permanent change or a bug. If possible, I’d like the previous behavior with photo overlays restored?

Thank you.

That seems to be a bug, as the toggle option for community photos is there in the route builder but the photos aren’t. In the activity map though photos are still there as thumbnails.

Hi, thanks for the reply!

I can confirm that if i try a test route using the route builder (I never used it before - seems a great tool!), that there are many trail/route photos showing.

The clickable blue dots or thumbnails photos are not showing though on my Strava webpage heatmaps?

I see that there is a detailed webpage which gives instructions on how to enable “public photos on routes”, but when I try to toggle them on/off there is no change?

Hope this helps to resolve the bug

Hi, just a note to say community (local) photo’s is now working again - I guess what every changes were made in the last ~12-24 hours has fixed it?

Thank you !!!
