The specified Meetup Address on a new Event is NOT being saved. This is happening on the Strava website. Note that there has been an update to the dialog for specifying new event details - including the meetup address. The specified address is simply erased. I’ve had to add the meetup location to the event description. This is not the first time that an update to the website has introduced a regression to basic functionality. Do you guys run any tests before pushing out an update? Would greatly appreciate that this bug gets fixed asap.
Hi
is this happening in the web version (which browser?) or in the mobile app (which OS)? Thanks!
This problem occurs using the Safari web browser on MacOS Sequoia 15.5. I haven’t tried using the Strava mobile app. Note that this occurs when the address you type does not match any of the pre-defined addresses shown in the dropdown list. For example, “Weir gravel lot on 2nd & Main” or “Sun City Community Center near the tennis courts”. When you enter an address that matches a pre-defined address, it is correctly saved / persisted.
Thank you, this is very helpful. I’ve asked the Strava moderators to have a look and possibly raise this with the engineering team, hopefully we'll get some feedback soon.
Hey
Thank you for providing this information.
You are correct, as the recent update to this field is looking for specific street addresses opposed to descriptions. Please continue to use your location descriptions within the description field if you do not have the exact street address as you’ve been doing.
Also, please note you don’t have to have a street address to create an event. You can still leave “Meetup Address” text field blank if you choose.
Lastly, I understand how this can cause confusion when creating a club event so I’ll be sure to relay this feed back to the appropriate team.
Thank you so much for discussing this within the Hub!
