My and most of the other runners of the official Aare Lauf from yesterday, missed the halfmarathon time, because the the gps accuracy in the forest near the river seems to be weak and not accurate. Thus the distance is often 20-40m below the halfmarathon distance, however it is an official run. "correct distance" did not help, do you have any others suggestions?

That’s a common occurence and unfortunately you can’t do anything about that short of manipulating the underlying activity file.

done that, but seems to be an obvious and general issue - Strava should introduce an official race checkbox and distance correction

Unfortunately, even a race can be realistically shorter than the declared distance (here in town, there's an annual “half marathon” that has actually been only about 20 km last two years - and the organisers have dismissed all complaints with a claim that people's gps watches are simply wrong 🤦‍♀️). So unless the course is certified, the declared distance may not be what the race participants actually run.
