I’m wondering why my follower and following lists are no longer in alphabetical order?

Yes, same for me…. why?

Could a forum mod or someone else from Strava please give an explanation on this?

The change to order the followers by time of adding them was surely unnecessary but I can’t really see a downside. In case I want to search for a follower the athlete search function is and was always quicker.

Makes no sense, is the contact list on your phone or anywhere else done that way? No, lists are done in alphabetical order. Dumb move IMO

I raised a Ticket but just got an email saying they can’t answer it but have a look at “these” articles to see if they provide an answer.  I dutifully looked at the articles… which weren’t really that related and certainly never answered the question.  I pressed the button to say “NO it didn’t answer the question” and I just was presented with the only option to raise another ticket… useless.

We Strava users are still waiting for someone from Strava to give us an answer on why this change was done as it makes no sense for a list of people's names not to be in alphabetical order. Maybe there is a good reason but it's not being shared with us, the people who actually use and pay for Strava. Guess everyone at Strava is busy messing up the follower/following lists and with suing Garmin. If Garmin uploads are stopped, paused or negatively altered at any point I will not renew my upcoming Strava subscription and I will go with Garmin as they offer all that I need on their Connect app and supply actual hardware that I enjoy using. Definitely a better experience for me than using my phone and the Strava app to track my rides. The social and competition aspects of Strava are good but something I could do without, like I did for many years before Strava was around.

I personally like it being in order by date.  I like to see who was recently added or who may have been on there for a long time that I would like to remove since they are inactive or just no someone I am interested in anymore.  I do see the benefits to both ways though and it seems there could be an option to how they are sorted rather than one way being forced on everyone.

The option to select the way you would like to view your following/follower lists would be a welcomed addition and that's how it should have been done, but to just change the way it's been for years without giving end users any option to use the original way to sort is not good way to do it IMO as it becomes forced upon everyone. If it's not broke don't fix it, but Strava could make it a welcomed new feature by giving us a choice.

I really don’t care when my followers started following, but I do care to see an alphabetical order of all my followers.  This “change” or “bug” defies common sense.  Again, there’s zero value in knowing when my followers started following.

I’ve complained for some time that it would really help if I could look at a Strava club’s membership and see people sorted by date so that I could figure out who’s just joined. So it’s weird that Strava has imposed (not just implemented) such ordering for personal followers/following lists, but clubs, no, they’re still ordered by first name.

I don’t check my personal following/followers lists that often, but it would be nice to have the option to specify the sorting method.

This was a really bad change imo! Turn back the followers/following lists to alphabetical! The way it is now is messy and worthless
