I have been looking into some 3D views of routes after activity (replay 3D thingy) and found it rather dry, gets boring after a while. I was watching some cycling greats routs (cough Pogacar cough) at 150+km, therefore have some suggestions:
- Include compass at the bottom of the map, this will help orientation, either with true north or with reference to a landmark or the destination or the goal.
- Consider including a mini map of the entire route (again, at the bottom), this will help keep track of the bigger picture
- When an athlete enters a segment, show a pop-up (a bubble of some sort) of the current segment KOM (or best time or whichever applicable) comparing directly to the athlete. This way, you can track where the athlete had gains or slowdowns for future improvements.
