Previously, after new segment was created it’s stats was updated within few hours with previous attempts of other athletes. Now I can see only one my attempt from the activity from which the segment was created. Other athletes attempts are added only if they run the segment after creation. Is it a new feature? How can I re-calculate historic data for the segment?
The last time I created a segment it showed all the past activities. I'm not sure but if it's as you say it could be a way to declatter the segment tab from "not fare" activities

It was the same for me before, but last week I’ve re-created the segment 3 times - past activities are not there, only activities after segment creation.
I’ve waited for couple of days. Nothing was populated. Only new runs after creation were counted.
Does this impact all your newly created segments or just the one? Maybe it’s a new track where nobody rode before.

I’ve tried yet with only one segment - it’s a new running route in a forest, nobody ran it before April, but in April we had a race there, so there are dozen of attempts at least. And all new attempts after creation of the segment were shown in stats.
Will try with other segments and activities.
I’ve created two new segments bike and run - stats were updated immediately. Then I’ve tried to edit the original segment (actions → edit → save) and historic data was populated! Seems it was some bug.
Question is closed.
came here for the same problem, noticed happening since months, always went smooth before, so it is definitely a bug. Thanks @Tych for the woraround
I am seeing the same issue over the past month, as are at least 2 others in my riding group. Segments created within the last few months have shown the following results…
1 - only efforts completed after the segment was created, not even efforts by other riders from the same ride the segment was built from.
2- a portion of past rides, but not all. For example, my friend created a new segment and it populated with a handful of rides from 2020, but none between then and now.
The segments have been in place for weeks without updating.
For now we have stopped creating new segments until the issue is resolved, as they are pretty pointless until then.

I tried editing the segment just now, making it one click shorter. Instead of populating it with more efforts, it removed them all, including my own effort from the ride that I built it from. I then edited it, setting it back to the original length, still nothing. I deleted the segment, then recreated it, now I am back to it showing only my own result. Not the person I was riding with, or my past results or the people I rode with then. And no other results from other rides. I will keep my eye on it to see if anything populates over the next few days. The fact that it is happening to everyone that I know that has created a segment within the last few weeks, at least locally, makes me think that it is a bug.
You still need to give it a little time to populate. It isn’t going to be instant. It never was. While it used to pull in a handful pretty quickly in the past, it still took time to index. The idea was not to actually make any edit. Just open, click edit, then save. No changes. That seemed to work (after given a little time to populate).
Yes, I agree that it is some kind of bug in the system. I’m just trying to see if a workaround will work consistently or just in certain circumstances. Hopefully they will be able to fix the bug.
I've created a new segment, and people who have passed nearby, not on the segment itself ( on activities prior than the creation of the segment) appear on the results table. Since they have not really crossed the segment I would like to remove their times from the table, or maybe remove the times prior of the creation of it. Is there any way?
…. Just open, click edit, then save.
this works, instant population, otherwise have waited even few days and no population occurred

I just did this, and now even MY activity is not on the leaderboard. Completely blank. I have made a lot of segments in the past and this is my first time running into the issue everyone is talking about on this thread. Very strange.
