When I go to share my activity it doesn't give me the option to share a transparent clip of my stats, it only shows a link URL. I've tried removing my privacy restrictions, reinstalling etc but not joy. Any advice?

You can try tapping the three dots at the top right corner of the activity (in the mobile app) and adjust the map with the “Edit map visibility” option.
