This is not a post for asking for help, but rather to vent my frustration about Strava's lack about basic features:
- Why are there no turn-by-turn directions for a pre-planned route either with audio cues or some sort of display on my smartwatch? Or even better: Why not both?
-Why does the app on my smartwatch not work in unison with the app on the phone? Meaning, if I start a workout on my phone, why isn't the same workout simultaneously displayed on my smartwatch?
- Which brings me to my next point: Why are there no cues for entering and leaving a certain puls zone?
-Why is there not a save button at the bottom of the editing page after you finish your workout? You always run the risk of deleting your workout because of it.
-Why can't you upload non-GPS workouts from other apps to Strava?
-Why can't you turn off GPS for certain activities? For example: It doesn't make sense to have GPS turned on during swimming in a pool since GPS is by far not accurate enough to track your lanes properly. And this way you end up with fantasy numbers.
-Why can't I manually change my top activities?
Granted, the the route planning feature is pretty neat and easy to use. However, I am not paying 75€ per year exclusively for that and thus - at least right now - Strava is nothing more than an overpriced social media app to me. The thing is that I would happily pay the 75€ if Strava had proper cues and my phone and my smartwatch would work in unison.
