When i record my outdoor rows, it displays speed and cadence but for some reason it's stopped displaying splits which is the most important but. My Garmin captures and displays this data, and it used to show on strava but doesn't now for some reason. My rowing friends still have it on their activities in strava so it's really odd! Any ideas?

Try saving your row without using Quick edit and see if it's ok. That seemed to work for me today. I think this bug may have been introduced with Quick edit.

Hey @Lawrburk,

Are you still having trouble with your splits not appearing on your rowing activities?

Strava have recently fixed quick edit so rows correctly save as ‘row’ instead of ‘workout’. HOWEVER, the bug described here still exists and now there is no workaround.

I think I have found that if you save the row without editing the description it will show the pace/500m correctly.  However as soon as you change something it immediately changes the description to show time, distance and calories instead.

I think this might be an Android issue as my friend uses iPhone and is fine.  Picture below shows my row with the wrong data displaying and my friend on iPhone.  Link to activities at bottom.

I’m on Android and am seeing this same problem as well. Avoiding “Quick Save” and editing in the full edit menu doesn’t work anymore. Any modification to the activity changes the statistics.

Definitely a bug, I’m not sure how to properly report.

@estaylor12 I’ve logged it as a bug and the team have said they are aware and working on a fix.

I have found a workaround as this issue only happens when you edit the row in a mobile app.

If you save your row on your phone without making any edits it will keep the splits.  You can then make edits on another device like iPad or pc and it will still keep the splits.
That is working well for me now, give it a try.

This is exactly the problem! If you edit anything in the workout (title/description) it automatically reverts to miles. If you save as a run, and then edit again and save as a row, it reverts back to meters. This is VERY annoying, it is most definitely a new bug (as in the last 3 or 4 weeks for iOS - I see the original comment was from months ago though…). I have an Apple (iOS) so this is not an Android only bug. Please fix this! It’s worked fine for years.

It’s also not just for outdoor rowing.  It is also messed up for ErgData/Concept2 (same meters to miles issue). The data also just doesn’t match in general anymore (image total distance stats from Strava say 8,733m, when clearly from the image you can see it should be 10154m). If we could actually edit the info, it wouldn’t be a problem, but it’s non-editable. This has never been an issue before (for me anyway).
