parkrun run type

Could you not use a title or tag of #parkun? You can then easily search for them ?

@VikK I like that idea, but I don't think one can search all of strava based on activity title or tags. In fact, activities don't have tags, do they? That makes me wonder... being able to add tags to activities could be an interesting addition. But then again, it could be an unnecessary complication too.  

I vaguely remember that to tag you just put it in the description bit, not quite the same but it works. The search has improved recently, you can search on keywords. On the mobile app you can even filter by distance now which is very cool if you want to check this years 5k or 10k record.

Parkrun is a global movement where there are organised free 5k's every Saturday, started out in the UK but has spread everywhere,  www.parkun.com

Hello, i suggested parkrun today as an activity type, instead of long run, race etc.

They said someone suggested it on the boards, but didnt get much response.

Millions of people do parkrun every Saturday morning, its massive, yet strava arent bothered.

A “run a parkrun” challenge would be nice as well. 

I am guessing parkrun does not get much love on Strava because it isn’t big in the US? But it is massive in Europe, South Africa and Australia. 

I see they have added With pet, with kid to activity tags, why cant they just add parkrun as well!!!

These are parkrun stats for 1st and 2nd November,   Worldwide there were 2,151 parkruns plus 498 junior parkruns, 344,000 parkrunners plus 31,000 junior parkrunners, and 48,000 volunteers in total,

~22,000 people got their parkrun barcode this week

~14,000 people became parkrunners this week
~5,200 parkrunners joined running milestone clubs
