calories and ebike ride

Using an Apple Watch for tracking cycle workouts with e-bike but obviously it has no idea about my usage of throttle or pedal assist.  When I import into Strava and set the ride type to e-bike or e-mountain bike, does that do anything to the data or is it just tagging that exercise with the type?  Or if I track via Strava, how does it utilize the e-bike type, does it use it to calculate calories? if so, is it best to just use Apple Watch through a HIIT workout to track heart rate and let Strava track the bike ride/route information?

wow - I can finally add new shoes from the iOS app! Thanks you

Pleasantly surprised to discover on the 2nd day of the new year that I could add a new pair of shoes from within the Strava iPhone (iOS) app.  So rather than complaining or suggesting something new, I want to say THANKS for adding this feature.I had a great run in a new pair of Topo UltraAdventure 4 shoes. It was so nice to add them on them on the fly as I usually forget by the time I get home.Thanks Strava PM and Engineering team.

Protecting Tracks from Manipulation

Hi everyone,Strava’s competitive and athletic features attract cheaters and fraudsters. We constantly encounter cases where segments are completed using cars, motorcycles, e-bikes, and other tricks. What’s even more surprising is that Strava allows uploading any tracks, which are essentially text files with XML markup, without any validation.To prove my point, here’s an example of a website that lets you “speed up” your own (or even someone else’s) track, making the result indistinguishable from a real activity: https://starva.duckdns.org/Try it yourself and see—there’s no protection in place. Meanwhile, you’ve disabled FlyBy by default and keep cutting features in the free (non-subscription) version. Wouldn’t it make more sense to focus on tackling cheaters?

Garmin Fenix 8 Indoor rowing issue

I recently purchased the Garmin Fenix 8.  I use an indoor rowing machine.  The Fenix has a icon for indoor rowing workouts, but when the workout transfers to Strava, it shows up as an outdoor rowing activity with no way to change to indoor row or to add distance.  Thoughts?

No access to My year in Sport 2024

It's the 5th of January 2025 1:17pm where I reside and my year in sport 2024 has disappeared from my profile on the app.  The Strava website clearly indicates that I would have access too it until the 6th of January 2025. Very disappointed not to have access too it Just got back from off grid camping, couldn't access it sooner.  Please help

Run not saving after I hit finish

This has happened twice now that I’ve finished a run with no issues, stopped the activity, hit finish and save activity, and it tells me it’s processing. Then a few minutes later, the processing banner is gone and the activity is nowhere to be found. Help!(My app also is not showing the + button in the top left corner to input the activity manually, but that is a separate issue)

Unable to add links/URLS to posts /URLs stripped out in comments

What happened with URLs? Looks like URLs are being automatically removed from posts, so it's being a little bit more complicated to share for example Strava Challenges from clubs with friends.

Downvoting ideas

What do people think of downvoting ideas? We can currently upvote ones we like but right now there is no way to express a dislike to an idea except in comments and to not vote for an idea.Would it be too negative? I’ve seen some ideas I dislike, fortunately (for me) nobody voted for them but this might help filter ideas and gauge interest.

Winter Challange von Zalando - VORSICHT!! Nur für Österreicher und Schweizer

Vorsicht!Die Herausforderung mit dem Zalando-Preisnachlass ist aus meiner Sicht irreführend. Es geht nicht daraus hervor, dass es nur für Teilnehmer (Einwohner) aus Österreich und der Schweiz gilt!!So ist es mir letztes Jahr gegangen, als deutscher Teilnehmer kann man nicht profitieren.Warum beschreibt STRAVA das nicht richtig??Grüße MarioTranslation: “Be careful! I’m the weirdo who mostly uses Strava for commuting. One of my favorite parts of the commute feature is CO2 saved. It would be really cool to see total CO2 saved over the course of a year in the recap.

Changes to Strava Group Challenges

Hello Community Members,  We want to update you on an upcoming change to the Group Challenge feature. Currently, Group Challenges can be created by subscribers and athletes with a free trial subscription. All other athletes will get three free challenges to create or join a group challenge. Once a free challenge has been used, it can not be reclaimed by deleting or leaving the challenge. You can find out more about Group Challenges here.  What you need to know: Starting in August 2024, only Strava subscribers or users with a free trial will be able to create and/or join a group challenge.What if a challenge was created before the change? Existing challenges and challenges created before the update will remain active until their finish date. If a user joins a challenge before this update, they will still be able to participate, and the challenge will continue until the end date.If you have any additional questions or feedback regarding this update, please let us know. Over the next several months, FATMAP's 3D maps and other features will be built into Strava to create the world’s best platform for planning, navigating, and sharing outdoor adventures with the largest global community of active people.As we move towards this joint mission, we will retire the FATMAP app and website on October 1, 2024. Until then, you’ll be able to use all the FATMAP features you currently enjoy. After October 1, several FATMAP features will be available in Strava, and the FATMAP app and website will no longer be available. I wanted to share some challenges I've been experiencing on your platform. I genuinely love the features Strava offers, but recent issues have made it difficult to fully utilize the app as a new user.When creating my club, I had to contact support for verification before it was approved. While I appreciate the review process, this step felt unnecessarily cumbersome and was not communicated clearly. Since creating the club, I’ve been facing ongoing issues as the admin. My posts aren’t being processed, and several group members have reported the same problem.I’ve already attempted the standard troubleshooting steps—reinstalling the app, refreshing it, and updating my device. Unfortunately, these measures haven’t resolved the issue.It’s frustrating to encounter these roadblocks, as I was excited to grow a community on Strava and optimize the app for club engagement. Adding training mates to my activity

It is not possible to add training partners. It was always possible to add people who did training with me but did not turn on strava, but in the last two I have not had such an option. I am asking for urgent help.
