I’d like to see more attention paid to managing cycling gear, especially the historic categorization and usage monitoring for components carried over from bike to bike. Currently, there’s no way to transfer an any component from one bike to another to continue mileage and use case tracking.  For example, using all the existing components from a “current bike” and moving them to a new frameset.  Another example would be using multiple chains in rotation, in particular, waxed chains.  Right now, there can only be 1 iteration of a component linked to a “current bike”.

The only option is to create a new ”Bike” and monitor its progress from there. Additionally, the starting date of a component can’t be retroactively set, leaving little to no options for reusing parts from one bike to another.

From what I understand, a components “starting date” could be useful here.  I cannot be the only person who re-uses parts across bikes.
