I'm sensitive to screen motions and I dislike the recent app update for 2 things in particular. First, when I hit record (which is now bizarrely a play button) the map spins around to orient to north. I try to look away as quickly as I can after pressing play/record but still end up getting some nausea from the spinning. The second issue is the stupid animation that appears after an activity that says things like "way to go!" and moves around the screen. Again, more screen movement that I have to try to look away from so as to not feel seasick. I know I'm in the minority but is there a way to disable map spinning and animations?
That’s me too. I like to look at the map now and then but as soon as I unlock my phone I see that map start spinning, and if I move my hand even a tiny bit, it spins again. My work-around for now is when I want to see the map, I have to lay my phone on a steady surface, unlock it and VERY quickly look away, and count to 5. Then I can finally look at the map without feeling like I’m about to barf.
I do not get motion sickness, but the animation absolutely annoys me. There is no need for it on EVERY activity. I get having something special for personal bests or other achievements, but this is ridiculous. It’s very strange that there is no way (?) to opt out of it.
The added animations are aids, slows the whole app down and makes a 2 second interaction sometimes brick my otherwise perfectly fine phone.
