I went for a run and saved it on my Android phone. I tried to upload it but it keeps getting stuck at saving. I dont want to lose my progress so I would really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

I can’t help with the saving of the activity, but if you haven’t already, take a screenshot of the activity details from the phone or write them down.  That way, if you end up losing the activity file before you can get it uploaded, you can always add it as a “manual entry”.

@Andreas_DC Is there a particular error message displayed when you attempt to save the activity? Or are you running into a situation where the loading indicator never stops? To understand more about the situation, it may be necessary to reach out to our support team so that we can have a look at your Strava account. How Do I Contact Strava Support?

I am having the exact same issue, recorded a 3 hour ride and it gets stuck at saving after I press “Finish”.

Something’s up with Strava servers I presume.

edit: I’ve found a workaround: Turned WiFi off, saved the activity offline and then turned WiFi back on to sync it.

Same problem here.  I turned off the beacon and it stopped spinning and let me save.

Same issue this morning. Thanks for the workaround, Ignaply.

Same issue since 7/3/25. Strava?!

Same problem here.  Got stuck at "Finish" and just kept spinning.  I had already tried turning off WiFi and then my Cellular connection, went into airplane mode and then tried with each different type of connection. Nothing worked.  I searched on the Internet and found this page.  @jbodwin 's solution of going back to the ride, turning off the beacon manually and clicking "Save" worked instantaneously. Thank you @jbodwin! You saved me from losing a 76 miles, 5 hour ride yesterday.

Hello everyone! Our team is aware of this issue and is currently investigating. In the meantime - please try the workaround of temporarily disabling the internet connection of the phone or turning off the Beacon manually, then clicking Save. Thank you for your patience while we are looking into this!

I didn't have beacon turned on, but reading the above from @Cyberblader prompted me to turn it on - and then off again.  That worked!  Thanks.

Myself and my wife have had the same problem for both rides and walks on our Android phones. We’ve got round it by using the back button to get back to the main Strava page, then going to outstanding Notifications. Then we can go to “Record” and save the activity. Hope this helps!

This genuinly is frustraiting and upsetting, its been an issue since last Thursday, maybe even before then. Put all that effort in to get a decent time and then spend 15 minutes trying to save the activity. Turning the beacon off does work, although i had to turn it on and then off for it to actially work. Hoping it gets fixed soon 🙏 please work your magic development team 🫡

Same issue; none of the work-arounds worked

I upgraded my phone to Android 16 and suddenly I could not save my activity.

Same issue (Android). Thanks for workaround (turn beacon off and then save works like normal)
@Lola would be helpful if known issues like this can be announced on https://status.strava.com/

I'm having a similar issue on my Android, but with adding manual activities. The save button is greyed out and none of the above workarounds actually work. Anyone have any insight?

Hello everyone,

An additional workaround step that’s been recommended by our team is to exit the screen and return after a short period of time.
Lastly, I can confirm a fix is currently being worked on and planned to be out as soon as possible.

We will be sure to return to this thread once we receive an update.
Thank you all!

Exactly the same issue here. The turning off WiFi work around saved my day. Thanks!

Hello Everyone!

Back with another update. I’ve been informed by my team that this issue is now resolved.
If you haven’t done so yet, please make sure you have the latest version of the Strava app installed.
