Hi ​@FranklinChen, this sounds like a bug…

​@Bryant could you please ask the product team to have a look? It's reproducible in the current version of the iOS app (409.0.0), tab Record > the top menu with the Close and Settings options is missing. In the beta 410.0.0, it's fine. 
 

​@Bryant I’m having a sort of similar issue where when I start a recording I no longer have the option to Hide the recording to go back to view the Home screen/tab during an activity. Once I hit Record I can’t cancel. Once I hit START I can’t do anything other than flip between the map view and the data view and Save the activity. 

I’m on an iPhone SE iOS 18.4.1 using Strava v40900 r47813.

Could you provide a screenshot of this error so the team can further investigate?
Currently, I’m not able to reproduce this error. The gear icon appears at the top for myself.

​@Heather is Outside could you do the same for your situation as well?
While recording, I’m able to pause, resume,finish, and hide the recording screen during the activity.
If you feel screenshots won’t be able to properly capture your issue, could you screen-record and submit a support ticket with your recording included?

The bug appears both on my iPhone SE and my iPad 2. In fact, I don’t use my iPad 2 much, so when I launched Strava, it was on an older version and the top row showed up fine, then I did an App Store update, and after that, the top row was missing! Here is a screenshot of my phone just now after hitting Record, upon which I am supposed to see the top row but don’t:

 

Just to add, the top panel is empty also before hitting the Start button- it's supposed to show Close (top left), activity type (middle) and the gear wheel for settings (top right).

Can you confirm if you’re using an iPhone SE as well?
Trying to figure out if the issue is specific to this device or not. 

Here are my screenshots. 

I should note that I have an iPhone SE (2nd generation) and my wife has an iPhone SE (3rd generation) and both of us experience this Strava bug. And also I misspoke earlier, wasn’t on an iPad 2, but my 2017 iPad Pro. All three of these devices exhibit the bug.

This particular screenshot is from an íPad Pro (where I have the regular version of Strava), it's ok on my iPhone 15 Pro (where I have a beta - which is fine)

I have the same issue where the settings menu doesn’t show up in the recording tab. Essentially softlocking you until you start and finish a recording. I’m on a 2nd gen Iphone SE running “iOS 18.4.1”.


I’m new to strava so i was very confused.

I have exactly the same issue with my screen showing the same as “Heather is Outside” - I have a iphone SE and it used to work perfectly but now I can’t see the “gear” icon which I used primarily to lock my screen so it wouldn’t go to sleep if I was watching my progress through a segment when on my bike.

I just updated to Strava version 410.0.0 on my iPhone SE and it still has the bug!

I’m having the same issue - no icons at all on the ‘Record’ page. I also have an IphoneSE and running iOS 18.4.1 and Strava 410.0.0

This bug still has not been fixed after weeks! This is not acceptable. I pay for Premium and have a broken app for almost a month now, during which I can’t change any of my activity settings.

I tried to use the support.strava.com bot but it just keeps saying “I’m sorry I didn’t understand that” no matter what I say.

Agree - I pay premium to support Strava because it works, not because it doesn’t work. 

I reinstalled app hoping it might help, and now I’m stuck with default settings, cannot change to map view during the rides, and need to kill app to go out of “Record” screen...

I have the same issue, also on an IPhone SE (2022)

I still have the same issue on my iphone 8 plus.
 

Just chiming in that I'm having the same problem on a 3rd-gen iPhone SE running iOS 18.4.1 and Strava 411.0.0. I've been unable to do anything else in the app while recording an activity, and if I enter the record screen accidentally while browsing I have to quit and reopen Strava.

Yes, it is fixed! Thank goodness. Somehow it took over 3 weeks to fix though.
