UPDATE from the Strava team:

We can confirm the team is working on fixing the issue. We are expecting the fix to go out soon - once the fix is out, we’ll be sure to update this thread and let you know!

Hello all, I'm having an issue when trying to zoom out on a map screen where it starts to zoom out to see anything an area but then the whole screen goes white like a cloud cover & i can't see anything. This does it on my own maps aswell as friends maps.

Strava has been updated to the latest version & is running on an android s24 .

I have indeed an S24+ sm-s926b/ds with Exynos processor. At that time I was already surprised they use different CPU's for different regions. There were more strange things with this phone, in August 2024 we had an issue with a Google maps update which could not access the GPS. This was specific to S24+ but was resolved within a week or so.

So it can be related to (a combination of):

-Exynos CPU

-Rive library software

-Android 15

-OneUI 7

But I still think the most suspicious is the update to the map with the overlay of PR badges + text. Since this happened around the same time.

Anyone know how big the SW development team is at Strava? Do they read this forum? If I contact Veloviewer, I get a detailed answer the next day.

Every day I get a new update via the beta program. I'm now at 417.4. The whitening is still unresolved but my other issue is! I can now find back an old activity and see both map and photos which I could not see before.

Still the bug in version 417.13 (june 25), don't have any other update yet in the play store.

I just updated to Beta 418.9 released on 30-Jun-2025 but the problem has not been resolved in this version.

Maybe it's not a bug. Just an idea for a new paid option. With premium you have full zoom on map 😅

Will this issue ever be resolved? Im getting fed up with sending emails & tickets only to get crap standard answers! Paying £54.99 a year to have the maps white out is a bloody joke! SORT IT OUT!!!!!
