I’m trying to edit a new route and most (but not all) actions I try result in: “Error: Sorry, we couldn’t complete that action. Please try plotting the point again. This can occur when routing across large distances, so try plotting more frequent waypoints that are closer together.”

I’m only creating or dragging points a few blocks apart. This also happens when I try to delete a waypoint. The entire route is only 1-2 miles long. Looks like an API error, but status.strava.com says all is operational. Again, this is sporadic, but not a result of 100% of my actions.

edit: every action seems to be trying to calculate the resulting action from a point WAY far away. I’m in Oakland and editing a route in SF, but the calculation point is far to the west beyond both (see attachment). I even started a new route since the initial report, and this started in halfway through. Very frustrating to have basic route creating be this broken.

edit 2: the route had placed a finish point somewhere near Buffalo, NY. I never managed to click here myself. Once I deleted the hidden finish point, I was able to continue editing. What the heck..

I am having the same problem right now.

I have the same error

Same problem in the web. The app simply crash down when you choose map from the menu

Another +1 here on having this problem today - driving me mad. Tried saving route and going back into it but no luck.

This is the most annoying thing. The gaslighting in the message too. I am not causing the issue, you are!

Logged tickets, but have not had a response in over two weeks. Pathetic. I use Strava to plot and plan my routes. I will be cancelling my premium subscription.

To the person saying “resolved”, I suggest you make sure of your facts.

Its not resolved @Bryant ! Where are you getting your information. When will this be resolved? Its been over 5 months!!!!

Bug still persists, very annoying. Why does this take so long to be corrected

This would presume that Strava does know about the problem in the first place. With only two people in the world so far reporting it here it doesn’t seem widespread. Maybe you should file a support request.

Did that two weeks ago with no response.
