Segment Name Changed

Question

I have been a subscriber for quite a while, and this is the first time I am seeing this issue where a ride segment that I created some 3-odd years ago had its name changed. For some reason it's now named after some local folding bike club. How does something like this happen and can I please get my named segment back? It's a fairly busy segment, and I and many others have been using it for years. It went from a name with some meaning of the local area to one now named after a folding bike club with the word “sprint” added to it…it’s an almost 2-mile-long segment…What’s going on???

That probably means that your segment was automatically deleted because more than one segment has existed on this stretch. Now you are redirected to another segment that functions as the sole segment, mostly due to having more stars than yours had. The automatic made a boat load of bad decisions and you have to contact support if you want the correct segment back. You could create your segment anew but the general experience is it will be deleted again.

Okay i’ll try that since Strava Support has been unresponsive.
