Segment not populating

I created a segment a couple weeks ago, and it has yet to populate with any efforts.

We have been seeing this happening somewhat regularly recently.  I don’t know what is wrong, but one workaround that has worked for a number of people (myself included) is to open the segment, select “edit”, then just save it without making any changes.  Give it a little time and see if it populates after that.

This is getting annoying AF. It’s been going on for literally months and months and months now, and seems to have only gotten worse, to the point where now not even the work arounds (editing, deleting & re-making, etc) seem to be able to kick it into gear. I’ve been a Strava subscriber since ‘08, but it’s just so gone down the tubes in the last few years and now nearly every day I ask myself why I’m still paying for it...and every day that question gets harder to answer. Must be for the AI.

Have you tried submitting a ticket to see if the techs can explain what the issue is?

Haha, that’s a pretty hilarious concept, ​@anchskier. I’ve submitted multiple trouble reports to these supposed “techs” you refer to (mostly to do with the endless issues the site has with clubs, one of which I set up and tried to manage for a year) and they don’t do jack. You get to a point where you stop caring or trying, and that’s where I’m at now. An issue that’s so core to the service like this, and that is as prevalent and pervasive as it is and has gone unaddressed for as long as it has, is one that simply isn’t going to get attention. I truly don’t think Strava has personnel dedicated to QA nor bug resolution anymore; they’re just cashing the checks now until all the users get driven off and the service dies a slow death. It’s absolutely ripe for an outside disruption.

It is what it is, and submitting a trouble ticket ain’t gonna fix Strava’s problems.

I’ve replied to your question, listing my history and the futility in doing such a thing anymore, but for some reason it was flagged for “review by our moderators”. It was only a short message, and I have no idea why it needs to be reviewed, but I’m not going to waste time re-typing it just for it to get flagged again.🤷🏻‍♂️
