Strava always tries to be clever in formatting the names of gear, but many are incorrect.

For example, when I add a pair of shoes with the brand Nike and model Vaporfly 3, Strava incorrectly formats it as VaporFly 3, capitalizing the 'f'. This is incorrect; you won't see such writing on Nike's official website or anywhere that mentions this shoe.

What's even more amazing is that when I name the model Vaporfly 3 Premium, it doesn't get formatted. But if it's named Vaporfly 3 Volt, it gets incorrectly formatted as VaporFly 3 Volt again. This forces me to name it Vaporfly 3 DV4129-700 (which doesn't get formatted).

There are many other similar issues too.

Unfortunately, the first person who enters a new pair of shoes gets to decide how it’s spelled/formatted. You can try to work around this annoyance by inserting a different space character (see my answer on this earlier topic), or by replacing one of the letters in Vaporfly with a Unicode homoglyph (lookalike character).

Thank you for your reply. I also saw that post just now and replied to it. Strava has many similar minor issues that have not been fixed for a long time, as well as inconsistencies between the web and app functionalities, which is really frustrating. As an engineer, I truly hope Strava can learn from intervals.icu.
