I'm doing thousands of miles a year touring different countries. 

It's even the reason I bought a Strava subscription. 

Most of my net miles are done touring yet there is no touring tag. 

 

Why is this?

What's “touring”?

If you mean walking, hiking, cycling, … why not using those activities?

If you mean flights and trains and cars - Strava doesn't support that, it's not a sport type. 

Or maybe I misunderstood what you're asking for - maybe you could elaborate..?

I would guess from the account nick that it’s about cycling. But every cycling activity is per default a tour, I don’t see a reason to add a redundant tag.
