Suddenly I'm getting lots of pictures in my feed from people I do not follow. Seems to be coming from clubs I am a member of. Almost exclusively pictures of bikes. Some days so many that it feels like real spam. Is there a way to filter these out or is quitting the clubs my only options?

Hello @KarlS

Thanks for posting about this.  We’re in the process of testing the experience of surfacing club member posts in the home feed. There’s currently no way to disable this, however, you are free to leave a club at any time if you don’t wish to be shown posts from its members.

We do appreciate you sharing your feedback with us, and I’ve passed your comments along to our Product team.

I hope that's helpful.  Please let us know if you have further questions.

I love being in larger clubs but when when the club members are posting a lot, my entire newsfeed turns into into club posts (for example, Brooks club has been only pet pictures for a few weeks) and I don’t see any updates from people I am following on the app.

The ability to unfollow clubs without leaving them would help with this a lot!

We’re in the process of testing the experience of surfacing club member posts in the home feed.

Are you collecting feedback about this test? Here's mine: the experience SUCKS. Please make this optional. I follow very few groups and even then the club posts are overwhelming people's activities. (I've unfollowed them now / blocked some spammy people, but that should not be the only solution to this!!!)

Thanks for reading. 😶

Wait, this is intended behavior? You can't be serious. I had to leave several clubs to avoid having my feed spammed with content from random people I'm not interested in.

I was sure that this had to be a bug. If this can't be deactivated I won't return to those clubs. Please fix this as soon as possible.

@Jane11 - as with other changes, DONT JUST APPLY THEM UNILATERALLY TO EVERYONE!  If you want to add a feature, make it an opt-in thing or, at the very least, tell everyone about it up front and offer instructions on how to opt out.  We should not have to leave the clubs because you (Strava) decided for everyone that you thought it was better that our feeds get clogged with club posts.  There was already a place we could go to see the posts.  We don't need them in our main feed.  Maybe make it optional for people to opt-in, but not mandatory for all.  Strava is not Facebook or Twitter. This isn't intended to be a social media platform.

Hello,

Thanks to all of your for your follow up comments and feedback.  The experiment has been turned off as we consider the best way to surface club content in the feed.

@Jane11 - Thank you for listening to the feedback and acting accordingly.  For features like this, and others as well, setting it up so the users can opt-in if they want would seem to be a good way to go about it.  Don't force something on everyone, but give those who would like it the option to have it.  Maybe set up a toggle on the club page that each club member could toggle on or off to have the club posts show up in their main feed.  There are a couple clubs I am part of that I might like seeing the posts more actively in my feed, but I definitely do not want to see all of them that way.  I will go to the club page once in a while to catch up on any news there, but my main feed is where I want to see my and my friend's activities.

I definitely do not want to see club posts in my feed. At the very minimum it should be optional, and per club too.

As of Sunday, 2 days after "the experiment has been turned off ", I'm still getting more of those pictures.

Same for me.

Photos from all over (mostly from cycling clubs?) are still showing up in my feed. How do I remove this?

I'm subsided to a lot of clubs and this has destroyed my feed. It's not turned off or disabled, as suggested in the thread. I can find activities of people I know because they've been buried by this random rubbish.

I know you want more money from your advertisers, but forcing this on people is just wrong. You could at least just put some form of ad like content in, rather than club feed spam.

Telling people to leave the club is a terrible solution.

In the past couple of days, I noticed that I get notifications whenever someone posts to any of the clubs I joined. It's happening both on the web and mobile app.
It's a complete mess - having joined over 20 clubs, and for every one of them, I keep getting those useless notifications.

Tried to go through the settings and find a way to disable these notifications - but there is no option!

Hi all,

I believe everyone noted dashboard became Instagramish rather than Stravish.

It was due to unwanted, impossible to guess why it had to be posted, mostly selfies posts by club members.

That issue was raised and moderator responded "The experiment has been turned off" and marked the issue 'Solved'.

https://communityhub.strava.com/t5/strava-features-chat/unwanted-pictures-in-my-strava-feed/m-p/8999

But, even after that users reported those unwanted feeds kept pouring on dashboard.

I had them too, so I left the last club in which members were making unwanted posts.

Had it been really solved now?  Do you still get those post feeds on your dashboard or had it stopped?

Hi @Joan

Thanks for posting about this.  I can confirm the initial experiment has been turned off, and you should not be seeing any additional Club posts in your Feed.

Are you still noticing these appearing in your Feed this week?  If so, please let me know.

Hi @Jane11

As of 24 Apr, I was.  That was 3 days after your saying "experiment has been turned off".

I left my last club in which members were making single picture only posts then.

Let's try this.  I will re-join 2 clubs that I had left due to 'Instagramish posts' on dashboard.  We'll see what happens

Thanks @Joan

Definitely let us know if you continue to have this issue.

Hi @Jane11

2 days passed since I re-joined 2 clubs.

12 and 7 user posts in each club after I joined, but none on my dashboard.

Not sure leaving and re-joining was the cure or it just needed some more time. 🤔 🤔

Cheers!

Hi @Joan

Great to hear!  Thank you for letting us know.

I'm still copping this rubbish in my feed. Once I've left a community group, I won't be rejoining it. Consider how detrimental that is for whatever you're trying to monetise and achieve here. If I want to see group details, I'll go looking for it.

Hello @TC_89

Thanks for letting us know Club posts are still appearing in your Feed.  We would be happy to look at your account and investigate what's going on.  Please submit a support ticket

Is this some sort of a childish joke or what's going on? My feed is flooded with those idiotic bike pictures and selfies again!

I’ve just starting experiencing this experiment… as tech developers why wouldn’t you pilot a major change like this to a small group of users and seek feedback. I’ve had to leave a lot of groups I follow and still can’t sort through the rubbish to see my friends and families activities.

Reading these posts I can see that it was tested and disabled back in March and April so why is only popping up for me now? Has the experiment started again?

The subscription price is hiked up and now the app is pushing, essentially spam through our feeds… not a great user experience.

Still receiving this trash from club members on my time line! Strava… think please think, what a crap am I receiving all the time! You say you stopped the “experiment”… well it’s still going on as of today! What a crap Strava, what is this doing for you? Money money money…. Yeah money money money? Please stop this bull **bleep**!!!!

Why am I getting a feed full of random people from clubs still?
