Why does Strava not mirror all bike segments for ebikes?

Strava requires Ebike users to create their own new segments rather than just mirror (non-Ebike) segments across for ebikes.

This results in Ebike users selecting Bike Ride rather than Ebike Ride. For the majority, this is so they get the “main” benefit of Strava, see their performance on segments they regularly travel.

I’d hazard a guess that a small percentage of users ever create segments on Strava. It seems a bit ridiculous for Strava to want Ebike users to recreate segments for Ebikes when they tend to travel on the same routes and (Bike) rides as other users.

It seems like Strava has historically focused on the negative case - users who are trying to game the system by using Ebikes/Cars on Bike segements (or just standard bikes on running segments) - and completely ignored a customer use–case.
