Syncing treadmill runs with Samsung Watch5 Pro

I'm using the Indoor Run option to sync with treadmill runs. Consistently 0.1 to 0.15 miles behind actual. Outdoor runs no issues. Is there another setting to be adjusted?

Hello @EyeGuy76

Thanks for posting about this.  For indoor runs, the Strava App uses the pedometer in your watch to determine distance.  The pedometer uses the motion of your wrist to make an educated guess about how far you have traveled. If the motion of your wrist prevents the watch's pedometer from obtaining an accurate reading, which can happen if you keep your wrist stationary while holding onto the bars of the treadmill, your finished activity will not contain the expected distance due to the pedometer being unable to capture accurate data for a portion of the recording.

Another factor that can influence the distance on your treadmill run is the calibration of your stride length on the watch. If your watch has a calibrated stride length that differs from your actual stride length, this will cause your watch's pedometer to produce distance information that differs from the true distance you traveled. At this time, our team is not aware of a method available for calibrating your stride length on the Samsung Watch.  Also, in many cases, your actual average stride length may differ slightly from the stride length used by your pedometer from run to run, and this can cause small discrepancies.

To sum up, small discrepancies between what you see on the treadmill and what your watch records are pretty typical for indoor runs.  Determining distance from a pedometer is not as precise as when you run outdoors and record good quality GPS data.

I hope that's helpful and please let us know if you have any more questions.
