I use a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt V1 with a Wahoo cadence sensor. My average cadence in Wahoo and Strava is always different, with Strava always being lower.
Does Strava take 0rpm into account for its average? There is a setting in the Wahoo Elemnt to include zeros in the average count, which I have disabled. I am guessing this is why, but I just wanted to ask here in case someone already had come across this in the past.

I tried with another ride this morning. Strava was 83rpm and Wahoo 71rpm average (zeros enabled).
An example from a while back, Strava was 80rpm and Wahoo 83rpm average (zeros disabled).
So I need zeros disabled to get the data to be close.
What I don't understand is why don't they match exactly? The Elemnt captures the data at the source and then just transfers it to Strava, what happens in the processing that Strava reduces the numbers? Heart rate, speed and elevation all seem to match.

You're right, I got it the wrong way round, it's only power where Strava includes 0 when moving. So I understand from your posts that without including zeros in Wahoo your cadence there is a bit higher than in Strava but with including zeros it's in Wahoo much lower than in Strava?

I don't think it is. I enabled the "include zeros" in the Elemnt average, and on my ride on Friday Wahoo gave an average of 63rpm, whereas Strava was 77rpm, which is an even bigger difference that when I excluded zeros from Wahoo's average.
The elapsed time from each matches, but elapsed time is 35 seconds longer in Wahoo. I doubt this makes any difference.

That's exactly the reason, Strava includes 0 rpm in the average cadence when moving.
