Dark Mode !!

It's 2022 and most apps have Dark Mode nowadays. It might be a bit weird to use Strava when not working out... But looking at the segments the night before to plan out the next run is a thing. Please make us literally lose less sleep when doing this, or when recording an activity in the evening.

This has consistently been the top request on reddit.com/r/strava

Dark mode please

Hi Strava,

you could at least implement dark mode on the recording screen only, initially, to "test the waters".

This would help reduce battery usage and be less blinding while having the phone mounted on handlebars for bike rides, for instance, or any other activity that involves having the screen on.

I can live without dark mode. But I would really prefer it. I can also live by eating one meal a day. I would prefer more than that though. This is not an exaggerated example. Please Strava.

There's really no need for any enhanced GPS features at this point because the Strava screen can be seen from outer space

"...visible fom outer space" 😀 I like this one. Sadly enough, it's true. Using Strava at night is literally pain in the eyes.

And this bright white screen also contributes to the light pollution at night, disrupting natural fauna, contributing to sleep disorders and of course, consuming unnecessary ammount of energy and also indirectly raising the ammount of electronic waste through faster batteries wearing out. As batteries are mostly not replaceable nowadays, whole devices becomes a waste faster. Now consider the ammount of Strava users worldwide... this is not very environment friendly. And for what? That's the question never answered. Why Strava rejects dark mode so hard??? Considered it already had it a long time ago... I would really love to hear an explanation.

Because Strava team never confirmed they are or will be working on it. Most likely there are no development activity on most voted, most discussed feature ever.

I genuinely avoid the app at night because it’s so bright on my eyes! I hope we hear something over the next few months. Are Strava not aware that for several months each year we have reduced daylight hours?!

For unknown reason they do not care. It's obvious we are not getting dark mode here. It's a long time ago I given up the hope. I cancelled my subscription renewal and when it runs out, I probably stop using Strava. I do not track activities using Strava any more anyway, just uploading them from other devices and apps due to the social aspects od Strava. But at the end of the day I do sports for me, not for couple of followers.
