Dark Mode !!

It's 2022 and most apps have Dark Mode nowadays. It might be a bit weird to use Strava when not working out... But looking at the segments the night before to plan out the next run is a thing. Please make us literally lose less sleep when doing this, or when recording an activity in the evening.

This has consistently been the top request on reddit.com/r/strava

It is really sad to see an app that doesn’t support dark mode (iOS) where it’s been a core feature in the OS for years.  Not to mention the sheer magnitude of requests by users across multiple forums.  I’ve been an inactive member for years but was looking for a service to use as I reignite (restart) my workout routines.

I’ll keep looking for other options.  In today’s age, it’s difficult to consider paying for a service that doesn’t support dark mode.

I'd love to get dark mode on the app.  Strange that the last update by staff was in January this year.  Surely they could add a story to the backlog to develop this feature.

There's no backlog. They said they're not going to do it. ...and why I dropped my paid subscription months ago.

@stevencrader yep. We are getting there but not there yet. Strava enhancements/features are a journey and not a destination. It only gets better.

2023 is almost over & Strava has not launched any new features that improve my user experience.

To the contrary I now receive a LOT more advert driven posts linked to clubs. I've had to leave most clubs as a consequence.

Dark Mode, the overwhelmingly highest voted feature request,  remains at the bottom of Strava's priority list. Tim/he/him and the Strava team seem perhaps more concerned with pronouns than with happy customers. 

My subscription expires in May 2024, and it will remain expired in the absence of dark-mode.

If it's not on the roadmap then maybe you could give some indication of where it is on the backlog? I mean is it likely that it will be considered for, or moved onto, the roadmap in the future? What criteria would have to be met for this to happen? How often would this decision be reviewed? I guess we want to know if there's any hope at all... Are there maybe alternative solutions that might address this, such as an Android / iOS enhancement for example? Thanks

Interesting on LinkedIn.. I made a joke about dark mode on the post from Strava page announcing the new CEO and the incoming CEO left a like on my comment. I looked at other comments and didn't see him liking everything.. so hopefully this means he's supportive of this feature 🤣

It's insane to me that dark mode did not meet the bar for inclusion in 2023.. here's to hoping the new CEO is interested in listening to customers and making the app more enjoyable for all 👍
