There needs to be an update of various levels for climbing (as has previously been done with distance challenges) in the cycling monthly challenges as 7,500m can be done without any real effort depending on your location.
Put the 200k and 300k monthly running challenges back. Why have you removed them? They’re supposed to be a challenge, that’s the whole point. It feels like you’re dumbing down on them and getting rid of any which might be “challenging”.
@stravamh strava cycling challenges for February are weak. Not even going to bother signing up for 200 and 600k. I'm sitting on the 27th of the month at 1396km and 17000m of climbing. Nothing to cater to the fitter riders and runners.
I suppose inclusivity is great when you exclude a particular group of people. 👍🏻
I seem to have been merged into this chain from a different one (for the fifth time) so I’ll repeat my comment.
this change is a retrograde step which benefits nobody and annoys many loyal subscribers for no obvious reason.
Strava admins - this is becoming less about the badges (which may seem silly to you, but as these comments attest are part of the gamification that has made Strava a success and has pushed us outside on days when we would rather stay in bed) but more about your ability/willingness to listen to the community that is Strava
If we had monthly running challenges for set distances I think it would be a great motivator for the vast amount of runners that use Strava to record runs.
I also feel that not listening to community feedback might put Strava in a tough position if and when a good competitor comes along. Or at the very least, subscriptions might fall, due to the poorer app experience for the majority
@dangreen17 and @MattBrewis I've already cancelled my subscription. It might be over a little thing but its the straw that breaks the camels back in this case. Too many things they just seem intent on ignoring their users on. Strava could be so much better as a platform but its still basically the same thing it was 10 years ago.
@Alastair_S1D@MattBrewis ive just cancelled my annual renewal, I’ve also requested a prorated refund (lol, will see where I get with that!).
But it’s so annoying. I didn’t really want premium, I just wanted to support them, so ordered for a year on the c. £55 offer. That was at the start of January, and for the first time in my life, I aimed for and just hit 200km running, and the **bleep** thing was removed.
Now they seem uninterested in fixing it or admitting they made a mistake. Going to give some alternatives a try from here on, hopefully there’s something decent - or to be honest, why not just embrace Garmin’s app?!
