If I share even one specific activity with either "Everyone" or "Followers", it looks like my entire gear listing is displayed.

I'm sure many folks would prefer to hide this list, to avoid coming across as show-offs / boastful / as well as to avoid leaking information like this that might make them a target for any malicious individuals.

Please add this option to hide the gear listing, otherwise the only option i have is to go back to not sharing any activities with anyone

I would like to be able to hide the gear information such as the amount of kilometers that a specific item (cycle or shoe) is used for my followers. Can this be added as an privacy setting?

Thanks, @zecanard . yeah, i saw that earlier but it looked like it was focusing more on data taken from uploaded/synched .fit files. I figured i should add a more generic request for those of us who just use the app for running/walking/hiking, etc.

I've also upvoted that other suggestion as well : )

There is a very simple solution if you don't want people to see how much money you spent on your bikes. Instead of listing bikes by brand and model, simply give each one a non-descript title like Road Bike or Bike 1.

@ChrisBerry , your suggestion works well for a different use-case; i.e. if a user had just 2 or 3 gear items but they were all very high-end / expensive items, then adding a non-descript title makes sense.

What i'm referring to is when users have a "lot" of gear. even if you add vague nicknames to the 20+ items of gear (bikes / shoes , etc), it does not hide / cover that fact you have a "lot" of gear : )

That would be like telling people never to record any activity that start near our homes if we don’t want others not to know where we live. Or Strava could just add privacy zones so we don’t have to bend over backward. Which they did.

Misnaming all our gear and keeping track of it separately because we don’t want to eg. get mugged isn’t a solution, let alone a “very simple” one.
