Hi, I’m new to strava premium but this is the 2nd time I’ve come across an issue with it (perhaps I’m not using it correctly) and I’m seriously considering cancelling before it charges me.
I drew a bike route this morning and clicked “use route” on record to follow the route however I didn’t get any navigation queues instead I was just watching the map on my phone and had to keep twisting it mid ride to align the direction as it kept assuming I was facing at 90 degrees to my riding direction! I kept tapping the map icon but this just changed to metrics never to directions.
finally when I stopped the ride the post on my homepage had no map attached.
any help would be great before I decide to cancel.
Thanks

Hello @Stefanucl
Thanks for your post and sorry for any confusion. At this time, Routes on the Strava Mobile App do not include turn by turn directions. We do have an existing feature suggestion for that over on our Ideas Board. You can view it here and we would welcome your vote and any comments you would like to add.
You can find out more about using routes on the Strava Mobile App here
Also sorry to hear your completed activity did not contain a map. That likely happened due to the GPS signal not being fully acquired by the App. I'm not sure if you were using an iPhone or an Android phone, but I've included links below for troubleshooting and resolving this issue:
Troubleshooting tips for GPS on Android
Troubleshooting tips for GPS on iPhone
A weak GPS signal will also make it more difficult to follow the route during the activity recording, and the App will have a difficult time determining which direction you are heading. I recommend trying the GPS troubleshooting steps first, and then attempt to follow a route.
I hope this helps.

Hi Jane, thanks for the reply I appreciate it.
first of all is there a plan to have turn by navigation from the mobile app? It seems bizarre to me that you can draw a map but can’t get directions to follow it? Especially when paying so much for the ability to create them.
secondly, I used the desktop “app” today to create a new route and downloaded a GPX file as I was told by other friends who use garmin or other 3rd party GPS apps on their watches/bikes that it gives you turn by turn direction… however I use Apple Watch and iPhone and I can’t find anywhere where I can use the GPX file to give me the turn by turn directions I need for new routes I keep creating. Can you advise on this please?
finally just a simple thing really I notice it says under my username on the community hub Mt Kenya can you explain what this is please and I think strava believes my location is London as when I go to create new route it always starts over London, do you know anything about this as in my settings it says my location is Sheffield?
thanks
