When running interval workouts (12 × 400 m), Strava continues to display my previous “best effort” of 1:35 even though I recorded faster 400 m splits during the activity. It fails to update the “best effort” to reflect my latest and fastest 400 m run, which was 1:25 on lap 12.
Steps to Reproduce
-
Complete a run with interval workouts (e.g. 12 × 400 m).
-
Achieve faster 400 m splits—even multiple laps faster than the displayed best.
-
Upload the activity to Strava.
-
Navigate to the Best Efforts section (Progress tab or activity’s “Best Efforts” details).
-
Observe that the best 400 m time remains unchanged (e.g. stuck at 1:35), despite faster splits recorded (e.g. 1:34, 1:25).
Expected Behavior
Strava should automatically update the “Best Effort” for 400 m to the fastest elapsed time achieved during the run (e.g. 1:25). Best Efforts are designed to track the fastest section of any benchmark distance within an activity
Actual Behavior
-
Lap 7 (0.40 km): 1:35
-
Lap 11 (400 m): 1:34
-
Lap 12 (400 m): 1:25
Despite these faster times, the “Best Effort” remains 1:35 and is not updated in the activity overview or your overall stats.
