I recently opened a chat about my best efforts not updating on runs. I’ve tried to refresh segments, change activity from ride back to run and also used the “correct distance” but nothing is working. I,ve attached a picture of my activity as an example. Even though there is barely a minute in the time, it should still show as a Best Effort. Also today I did a 10 km run and it said I did a PR but it was slower than my last 10km. It was my longest run but that isn’t showing in my best efforts. I know some comments have said that elapsed time is considered with PRs?? Even taking that into consideration, my best efforts times don’t reflect that and I’m sure that when it says you’ve done a PR then in fact, that should be your best time. How can you effectively train to get better if the times/PRs are wrong. Frustrated with Strava...it’s my no 1 training tool and I don’t feel like any of the times are accurate!

It’s how you mentioned it, the best efforts are elapsed time but the splits are moving time, therefore it can happen that a 1 km split appears to be faster than the 1 km best effort.

Thanks, but this still doesn’t explain how I did a PR with a slower time (for a 10km). If it all has to do with elapsed time, I’m never going to really know what my PR is …. this all sounds very confusing. When I went to “refresh activity” (as this was recommended by some people), it has completely changed my time (so it does look like a PR now but the original time was slower). ie when it first downloaded Strava said I did it in 1.12 etc with it being my longest run. Then I tried to refresh activity - it completely changed my time to 1.11 which is a PR but that is not the time I did it in. I didn’t think Strava was so complicated.

I had a ride segment where it kept saying my PR was actually my 2nd best time. I go to Full Leaderboard and it says My Best Time in the header as my 2nd best time, but in the list my best time is listed there.

What I did was go to the ride with my 2nd best time. Made it something not a ride, eg a Golf :-)
Do a refresh. Wait 10m and then my best time is now matches my PR. I set my Golf activity back to Ride and everything is now as I expected and consistent ie. My PR and best time is the same.
