The idea is to be able to do virtual races without having to use segments. In a free racing style, especially for marine sports (windsurfing, wingfoil, SUP foil, downwind, ...) where the idea is to start from one place and arrive at another in a minimum of time. Segments cannot be used because they depend on the winds and the racing strategy.
