[KNOWN ISSUE] Flashing and Zoomed out Maps on Android

I notice since a couple of days/weeks that my personal heatmap does no longer display my path in given areas, depending on the zoom level. When you move around or zoom in and out, at times it displays the heatmap, or it doesn't, as if the rendering would fail due to some specific locations within rendering area.
I made a screen recording. (Android App)

I couldn't find anyone reporting this yet. It would be very helpful to get it to work reliably again.

As an international traveller, I see the personal heatmap as one of Strava’s most useful features.

Yep, when you try to scroll through the points on a ride, the map is fully zoomed out to the point where you see nothing. The map previously automatically zoomed in. Oh Strava, what have you done🫣

I have this problem too. But only on my tablet, not on my phone. Makes segment, route and heat map browsing almost impossible.

I have the same problem too. When trying to view the recorded ride, the map zooms way out, in my case it shows most of NZ and my ride is a dot on the map. Running Strava on a Samsung S21 phone. Hopefully Strava fixes this issue soon. 

Since 29 Oct when I click on the map on some of my activities and some of other athletes activities the map is zoomed out. Ie I see all of Europe with my activity I little green dot in the middle. It is the same on more than one device so not my phone settings. Not just my activities so not data from my garmin app.

Any ideas?

I also have the map flashing problem on Android since the November update (386.13), but it affects both the map and record views. Besides flashing different layers of the map and jumping around, it often goes totally black until I switch to a different basemap. Swiping and zooming actions sometimes still go though but are very delayed. Thought it was a spooky Halloween easter egg at first!

tried all the various settings, uninstalled and installed Strava nothing

I also have this problem on my Android phone. I completely  understand that you are doing your best to resolve the issue...  PLEASE sort this out ..  I am paying for a service.. up to now has been very good…

Regarding the flashing screen... This happens predominantly on the standard screen when zooming in... When I'm on the satellite, hybrid screen.. I don't have this issue...

For some time now, I haven't been able to open the route maps properly. They keep flashing.

​@Nordik14 If you disable the global heat map, it may prevent your personal heat map from disappearing. At least this works for me. I only experience the trouble if I have both the global and personal heat map enabled at the same time. It's not a fix, but it might help.

I’m having this exact same problem with the maps flashing. It’s been going on for months. I also can’t turn off my personal heatmap after my free trial ended. Strava has map problems. 

Lets stop paying the subscription 

Probably related: recently I can no longer zoom in to or go full screen on an activity map on my android phone. It just produces a blank page. On a laptop, it’s fine. Please fix!

​@Jane Any update on this issue? It's been a month since your last update and, as of 5 minutes ago, I still can't access any of the premium mapping features I am paying for through my subscription due to this problem.
