On may 18th, I was editing one of my shoes from the iOS Strava app. After a run, I went to « my shoes » section, saw the proper list as usual :

  • mizuno wave Daichi 7
  • salomon ultra glide 3
  • mizuno wave ultima 16 « pour tapis »
  • Mizuno wave rider 28 bleu vert

those last ones are my usual pair of shoes for the running. So I clicked on it to « modify » , check the « make default » box, and validated.

once back to the list, this pair disappeared ! I checked the « retired shoes » section, it’s not there. I have an old pair of « mizuno wave rider 28 », but it’s an old one. The new one had « bleu vert » at the end to make the distinction.

I went to check all the runs I’ supposed to have done with those shoes, and the shoes reference has left, there’s a sad «-« character instead.

of course, it’s annoying. I have tried to ask for help from the support, but I’ve been told that « they are limited to investigate these sorts of issues », which, I won’t lie, puzzled me for the rest of the week…

so ? Should I say goodbye to this data and create a new one again. Or is there any développer somewhere willing to investigate the database, if that’s possible; or I try and retrieve the data ?

thank you very much for any help,

best regards,

Loïc b.

Unfortunately your request is wrongly placed because the developers here don’t work for Strava and can’t look into Strava databases. You can reach more people if you write about these problems in the Strava Features Chat.

ah ! 🙂 thank you for your feedback, I’ll try in the other channel then.

cheers,

loïc b.
