PR not recorded or showing on All Time

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

For a segment I created, it shows my PR as being 5:37, but under the Overall All Time Leaderboard, my best time is shown as 6:15, it does not show my PR there...its not the first time, but does not occur on all segments...

Alright, so just to really double check, does also Strava know that you're not a teenager? 😀 You can check / correct your birthday after logging into the Strava website here: https://www.strava.com/settings/profile

Also, the “Everyone” visibility needs to be set on the specific activity (it can also be set on the profile level but that's not sufficient, so let's rule out confusing the two). This is what it looks like in the app - open the activity, tap the three dots in the top right corner, scroll a bit down:

Hey @gambest
Thanks for your post. I see that our support team was able to help you with your inquiry. Our team noted that the  segment in question starts or ends within a hidden portion of your activity.

Any time a segment starts or ends within a portion of your activity which has been hidden by the activity's Map Visibility settings, this segment will still be matched to your activity but the segment match will be a private match. Private segment matches are only visible to you when you view your own activity. No one else on Strava can see private segment matches on your activity. Similarly, these private matches are not eligible to be listed on our public leaderboards.

If you would like to make your segment effort public so that it is eligible for public leaderboards and achievements, you will want to ensure that the segment does not start or end within a hidden portion of the activity. This action is performed by using the 'Edit Map Visibility' option after navigating to the activity on your account. Once you have ensure this change is successfully saved, your segment effort should be immediately displayed on the leaderboards.

Map Visibility & Default Privacy Settings:
It should be noted that the Map Visibility settings on your Strava account are considered your default Map Visibility settings. These default settings are applied to each new activity uploaded to your account. Excluding editing a hidden address, changing the Map Visibility settings on your account will only affect new activities you upload and will not affect the Map Visibility settings on any previously uploaded activities.

If you wish to change your account's default preference, learn more here.
If you wish to update an individual activity, learn more here.

To read about Map Visibility, please refer to this article. And for more information on all of our privacy controls, please visit our privacy center and take the time to ensure your selections in Strava represent your intended experience. I hope this helps!

I have a similar issue as above where my PRs don’t show on the leaderboard.  Its definitely not a map visibility issue because these segments are far away from my home.  I’ve also logged out/in and also  adjusted my  privacy settings to show “Everyone”.  Please help!

@Michael C - Have you opened the activity that had the PR and refreshed the activity achievements?  It is one of the options when viewing the activity.

@Michael C - when you open the activity on the desktop, look for the list of buttons on the left side.  At the bottom, you should see two icons, a little pencil on the left and the three dots on the right.  Click on the 3 dots and you should see a menu pop up with “Refresh Activity Achievements” near the bottom.

hello @anchskier yes I can refresh my own rides, but my PR doesn’t show up on my friends’ rides.  I also can’t refresh their rides.  When I click on My results I can see my time, but on the leaderboard I show up as NA?

@Michael C - Can you post a link to your activity?  It might help to see the specific situation and see if there might be something we aren’t considering impacting it.

hi @anchskier  here’s a link https://www.strava.com/activities/13918477067

In the Clifford’s Plunge segment I don’t see my time, but if I go to My Results it appears there.

Thank you again

Could you post a link to your activity where you completed the segment?  That is where the issue would most likely be.  All I can see from the other person’s activity is the same thing you see and posted above.  If there is a reason your specific result isn’t showing up, it would show up in your activity, not theirs.

Are you sure about the privacy settings? I’ve just tried and Strava "can't find" the activity - which happens in case of restricted access. Maybe you've set it to Followers only..?

The activity isn’t showing up for me at all right now.  I’m sure the privacy setting was what was keeping it from showing up in the leaderboards in the first place.  If it wasn’t set to “everyone”, it won’t show up in the leaderboards.  If you just changed it, it may take a bit for it to refresh the statistics and show up.

Hmm I still can't see the activity - double-check the guidance posted by @Scout up in this thread… also, another user's question gave me another idea - how old are you @Michael C? Strava has some quite strict privacy settings for athletes under 18, see details here: https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/4412328250893-Your-Privacy-Control-Defaults-When-You-re-Under-18-on-Strava

hmm, that’s strange that you still can’t see it. I wish I was under 18 because I’m 62 :)

Also this ride was in Spain so its nowhere near my home so its not a Map Visibility/Privacy Control issue either.

Anyways, I appreciate all of you providing tips and trying to help, this is a great community!

aha mystery solved!! Thank you so much @Jana_S  you were right, within the specific activity it was set to “Followers only” and when I changed it to “Everyone” it now shows up!

Thank you so much everyone for your input!
