Turning off the new pop-up prompts to edit title / share activity?

Hi, the latest updates of the iOS app have some added automation which seems to try to be helpful, but, please, how can I disable that? 😬

First - making a screenshot of activity details triggers a sharing screen (where you can save an image of the map or the activity photo with stats). I understand it might make sense in some use cases, but if I'm taking a screenshot of the splits, elevation graph or pretty much anything in the activity details, I really do not want the sharing screen to pop up and hide the details that I want to capture.

Second - once opening a newly imported activity, a "quick edit" dialogue pops up immediately prompting to rename the activity etc. But it's too simplified and doesn't include all the options (such as: shoes), so I always just close it and open the actual Edit mode. The "quick edit" is just a distracting and frustrating step. If anything needs to be automated this way, then perhaps why not opening the newly imported activity in the Edit mode right away?

Again, I can imagine that these pop-ups may be useful for some users. But make this at least optional please, it would make the experience much more user friendly.

I too find this very annoying. This needs to be optional!

The quick edit option is useful for people who routinely edit their activities. But for people who barely, if ever, edit their activities (myself included), it's more of a nuisance than a feature. Please add an option to disable it.

@sudhanva I do routinely edit my activities and this pop-up still isn't useful for me - as it only includes several basic fields... 😒

Same here. Would be useful if it included the fields I typically edit, but it doesn't, so it just gets in the way. In all cases, should have an option to disable.

I agree. This is an option that is great in theory. In reality it’s incredibly annoying because I want to quickly go to the app and check something out and there’s always some demand on my time to close out a screen I will never use.

Please disable the quick edit...

Totally agree with there being a need for an option for this feature. It’s annoying as **bleep** and winds me up that I have to close the window every time. As someone who logs 3 activities a day I’d rather the feature wasn’t there at all.

Even the option for advanced editor, rather than the simple editor, as an option to change the default behaviour?

Agree 1000%. It simplifies editing by making one "simply" close the pop-up to actually edit the fields that need editing. This feature was obviously the brainchild of someone that is A:not in tune with their user base B:not a user of the app.

This from someone that edits EVERY activity that I post.

Hopefully they will kill this before it kills off their user base.

Here's another vote for the option to disable the "simple edit" option. I NEVER use it (I "advanced edit" all of my activities) and it bugs the heck out of me. Terrible UX/UI change.

I edit all my rides and the feature is incredibly annoying and slows the process of my usual editing process.

I usually need to select which bike/gear I have been using. The option is not available in the simple editor. Please give the option to disable, and additionally the option to pop out the full editor instead of the simple one. I'd be happy with either of these.

I’m on Android, but 100% agree. I always edit my activities, but the quick edit excludes things I change (eg gear). There are also glitch/saving issues when editing in quick edit and then switching to advanced. Just turn this off please!

Another new feature i'd love to disable. Whats wrong with strava's choices for development?

Ai features and annoying popups instead of for instance default privacy mode per activity type. Idk. Kill me now

I totally agree, it’s annoying to me as well. It would be great if you could make that bottom sheet optional, showing that configurable.

Boggles my mind how they added this feature and not make it optional.
I do modify my activities, like after a run I need to assign a shoe to it, except now I have to get rid of the pop up that doesn’t include that field then modify the activity to punch in the shoe. They made it an even worse experience to use a basic feature! 😣

I complained about it just after this annoying auto edit was introduced. Since it is introduced I never ever thought it was convenient. I always either have to edit other fields or I don’t have to edit anything.

This auto edit annoys me so much, I cancelled my strava subscription for it. But so far strava support don’t seem to care.

Another request to make this optional please - it's annoying AF, and just adds a needless extra process for those who don't want it.

At least I could turn off the equally useless AI summary...

“Quick edit prompts” are 100% annoying and a useless function to me aswell. DISABLE IT! My user experience took a massive hit after this unhelpful feature 😡

Yes, remove or fix quick edit, make it optional and customisable. It's useless for me as it is now. It's just a box that I pay to have to wait for and hit the x-button on before I can do what I was supposed to.
