Persistent Syncing Issue with Garmin Forerunner 245

Hello,

I am facing an issue with syncing my Garmin Forerunner 245 to Strava recently. When  I try to attempt to upload my activities, I am getting error code 503, indicating 'Service Unavailable'. This problem emerged around a week ago and has persisted despite my efforts to resolve it.

I have tried restarting both my Garmin watch and the Strava app, reinstalled the app, and verified my internet connection, which appears stable. Even after this , the problem not resolved . I have checked https://communityhub.strava.com/t5/strava-features-chat/bd-p/strava-features-chat-rpa discussions but still need help .

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @aannaadisuzaa 

Thanks for your post and sorry to hear about these issues.  Garmin devices record activity data and then sync that data to the Garmin site. Once the data is received there, it is sent over to your Strava account.

When you open your Garmin App, or sign into Garmin on the Web, are your activities appearing there?  If not, then the issue is likely between your Garmin device and the Garmin site. In that case, you'll want to contact Garmin Support for further troubleshooting:

If you check the Garmin site and find your activities are there, but not syncing over to Strava, please try disconnecting and reconnecting your Garmin and Strava accounts:

Disconnect Strava & Garmin:

  1. On Strava
  • log into your account on strava.com
  • Navigate to your settings page (https://www.strava.com/settings/profile) and locate your 'Social Connections' on the right side of the page:

  • Locate Garmin (the top Social Connection) and click 'Disconnect'
  • A popup will ask you to confirm if you would like to disconnect; answer yes.
  • If successful, green banner will appear "Successfully disconnected from Garmin. Syncing will stop."

2. On Garmin

  • log into your account on https://connect.garmin.com/modern/
  • Navigate to the Profile/Settings under the right account icon. (if you have an account profile picture it will be your picture, otherwise it will be the generic Garmin Runner icon)

  • Select Settings / Account Information https://connect.garmin.com/modern/settings/accountInformation
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page under 'Applications'
  • 'Disconnect' from Strava

  • Strava will be removed from the 'Applications' list

Reconnect Strava & Garmin
